Our wholehearted statement of faith

Human Nature & Sin

The Holy Spirit

We believe that God is the Creator of all things in existence. We believe He always has been and always will be, the Holy, Uncreated One. We believe that God is triune, one God made up of three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that God is all-present, all-knowing, and all-powerful. Everything in the universe is rightfully His.

We believe that since the rebellion of Adam, every human is born into the curse of sin and death. We believe that mankind is born basically evil, prone to sinfulness and destruction, destined for an eternity of just punishment. We believe that all have fallen short of the glory and holiness that God created us for. We believe that sin and death exist as a result of our free will to obey or disobey God.

We believe that Jesus is the Messiah promised to the Jews, the Mediator between us and God, the spotless Lamb who takes away the sins of the world, the rightful King and Ruler of all things, and the image of an invisible God. We believe that Jesus is the Son of God who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. His life was one of perfect obedience. He is fully God and fully man, the fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, and the Word who was present at the creation of the world. We believe Jesus willingly died on a cross, was dead and buried for three days, and then rose again in victory. We believe He has ascended to the right hand of God the Father, and will one day come again to rule His Kingdom and judge the living and the dead.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, whose primary purpose is to bring glory to Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit was sent as our guide and helper after Jesus ascended to His heavenly throne. This same Spirit who inspired the prophets of the Old Testament, and guided the writing of the Bible as we know it today. We believe the Spirit convicts us of our sin and opens our eyes to the Lordship of Christ. We believe that those who belong to Jesus are now the living temple of God, filled with the Holy Spirit, and fully equipped for life and godliness.

We believe the 66 books of the Bible, Old and New Testament, are the infallible Word of God. We believe this Word is without error, unchanging, and fully sufficient for understanding our salvation and living out our faith. We believe in the need to study, meditate, and memorize Scripture throughout the entirety of our lives.

We believe that salvation comes through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. We believe that our salvation is necessary because of the holy and just nature of God, who rightfully hates sin and the destruction it causes. Jesus is the spotless Lamb, the only Sacrifice capable of doing away with sin and death once and for all. We believe that once you genuinely believe and submit to Jesus that He will finish the work He started in you. We believe that true faith and salvation reveals itself in a life of fruitfulness and love. However, we believe our salvation begins and ends with the good news of the Gospel, never at any point relying upon our own efforts to earn God’s favor. Those who belong to Christ can now live in freedom from sin and with hopeful expectation of a new heaven and new earth in the presence of their King.

The Church is the new Temple and body of Christ. Every person who accepts Jesus as their Lord and Savior is now a part of the Universal Church. We believe that all believers should seek regular fellowship, exhortation, and encouragement from brothers and sisters in the faith. We believe the Church’s mission is to go and make disciples and share the good news of the Gospel will all people and nations, according to the final command of Jesus before His ascension.

Marriage & Singleness

We believe that marriage is an earthly reflection of Christ and the Church. Marriage was designed by God from the beginning of time to be between one man and one woman, a union of harmony, love, and submission. We believe marriage is a life-long covenant that should be held in honor by all. Sexual activity was made for marriage only and should be treated as sacred. We believe that children are an undeserved blessing from God and that they should be raised to love and fear the Lord.

We believe that God calls all men and women to seasons, and sometimes lives of singleness. We believe that singleness is good, valuable, and necessary for the flourishing of God’s Kingdom. We believe that marriage and sexuality is a temporary institution of this life, which means that those who never marry will not be less whole or eternally fulfilled than those who do.
